What is the TRS Scheme?

The Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) allows you to claim a refund for GST paid on goods that cost over $300 (including tax). The scheme covers a variety of purchases, including outdoor gear, clothing, and other travel essentials.

How the TRS Scheme Works:

• Shop online or in-store.
• Spend over $300 including tax at each store.
• After passing through customs in Australia, go to the TRS counter at the airport to claim your refund.
• Bring your passport, tax invoice/receipt with ABN (must have your name address if value is over $1000) and the product/s you wish to claim 

To Qualify:

The goods you purchase must be taken out of Australia within 60 days, and you must depart from an Australian international airport. The refund is processed at the international airport before you leave, making it easy and hassle-free.

TRS Office Location:

The TRS office is located after passing through customs, so you'll need to bring your gear with you as 'carry-on' onboard. (Luckily our gear will often fold into it's own hood making it the perfect travel pillow.) 

Bulkier items can also be claimed but must first be authenticated at the TRS office prior to check-in. This office is located in a different location to the usual TRS office (in Melbourne, it has been located on the internationals arrivals floor)
