Plus-size women’s and men’s puffer jackets have traditionally been as rare as hens' teeth, but as curvy women and big and tall men become more adventurous, breaking the traditional stereotypes that plus-size bodies aren’t as adventurous, or as active, more products are becoming available for us to offer as part of our range. What is the best brand of puffer jacket for plus-size bodies?

All our plus-size puffers are high quality and technical. The brands we love the most include German STOY which are high-quality technical jackets for travel that are of exceptional quality and value for the price (yes, they’re expensive but their quality is sublime), and Outdoor Research.

All the styles of puffer jackets we have in stock are “the best” for a different reason, so it really just depends on what you need it for.

Are our plus-size puffer jackets waterproof?

We all know puffer jackets are warm. They’re designed especially to be warm, whether they are for layering or to be worn as outerwear, but sometimes they’re not technically waterproof, although many of ours are.

Sometimes, there’s no need to waterproof a layering piece (and it costs more too), so they’re just designed to be windproof and water resistant. You need to keep in mind also that most puffer jackets, due to their stitching and multi-panel design, are not seam-sealed, so will not be as waterproof as a fully seam-sealed jacket even if the material itself is highly waterproof and breathable. Many of our plus-size puffy coats are made from a highly waterproof material.
